Consortium
The consortium conducting the research represents a unique combination of theoretical expertise, methodological experience, international journalism practice and representation of the Arabic-speaking European media academics and participants. It includes representation from the public education sector and the private broadcasting sector. It includes representation from nationally-based research institutions and transnational media organisations. The credibility, experience and networks of the consortium as a whole enable this highly innovative research into an under-investigated group. It allows the consortium to produce unique research data with important policy and research implications.
The project consortium exists of 5 partners:
- Universiteit Utrecht in The Netherlands (coordinator)
- Universität Bielefeld in Germany
- London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom
- Örebro Universitet in Sweden
- Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 in France
Since the project involves extreme sensitive issues, we have assembled an Advisory board: a board consisting of members of the Arabic speaking communities, high level scholars and media practitioners to whom we will present our strategies for each stage of the project. The Advisory Board therefore plays a key role in the review, quality assurance and dissemination of findings throughout the life of the project.
This project is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. The content of this website is the sole responsibility of the project consortium and not of the European Commission.
