Arabic language media and life in London

- How do Arabs in the UK feel about the state of political debate in the country’s media and in the public sphere?
- How do young Arabs feel about terrorism and Islam?
- And how does national and transnational television shape a sense of belonging in Britain, in the country of their origin, and the Arab diaspora?
The event will start with a presentation of the research findings and will be followed by debates and hands-on activities that aim at recording public’s opinions about news on national and transnational television; the role of transnational television soap operas in their lives; and their thoughts and visions about citizenship.
Provisional Programme:
2:00 – 2:30 Refreshments
2:30 – 3:00 Presentation of research findings
3:00 – 3:30 Public Discussion
3:30 – 5:00 Parallel debates with the public and hands-on activities on news, soap operas, and citizenship.
